IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING STATE GOVERNMENT CLOSURE


The Maine Health Data Organization will be closed December 24, 2009, January 15, 2010, February 16, 2010, March 12, 2010, April 20, 2010 and May 28, 2010, due to the 2010-2011 Biennial State Budget, Public Law 2009, Chap. 213, Part SSS.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Maine Health Data Organization is to create and maintain a useful, objective, reliable and comprehensive health information database that is used to improve the health of Maine citizens. This database will be publicly accessible while protecting patient confidentiality and respecting providers of care.

Maine Health Data Organization (MHDO) was established by the Maine Legislature in 1996 as an independent executive agency to collect clinical and financial health care information and to exercise responsible stewardship in making this information accessible to the public. MHDO policy is established by a twenty-one member board that represents health care providers, payers and consumers.
