4/3/20 - The change in the release date from the week of 4/6/20
to the week of 4/27/20 is due to an unexpected QC issue with the release files.
We are working on correcting the issue and will provide more details with the release.
**Medicare data updates are contingent upon when MHDO receives data from
CMS. The Q1-Q2 2019 Medicare data will be available during the release scheduled for
the week of July 20, 2020.
3/26/19 - The change in the release date from 4/8/18 to 5/6/19 is due to an unexpected issue with two of the largest payers submitting data to MHDO. The issues have been resolved but unfortunately the delay in data submission has created the need for MHDO to revise the release date.
2/25/19 - Medicare data updates are contingent upon when MHDO receives data from CMS. We anticipate receiving Q1 2018 Medicare data by March 1, 2019 which means the April 2019 release will include Q1 2018 Medicare data. If we receive the data after this date, the Medicare Q1 2018 data will be available in the July 2019 release. As soon as we have a better sense of the timing of the receipt of 2018 Medicare data we will update the data release schedule.

June 2015 - The United States Supreme Court decision in Gobeille v. Liberty Mutual (March 1, 2016) has negatively impacted the submission of commercial claims data to MHDO. Several of our largest payers (who represent about 80% of our commercial claims data) notified the MHDO following the decision that they were suspending all data submissions to the MHDO until they worked out the technical and legal issues raised as a result of the decision.
In response to these concerns the MHDO sent a communication to the payers stating that the MHDO will suspend the enforcement of data submission requirements under Rule Chapter 243, Uniform Reporting System for Health Care Claims Data Sets, for a five month (March – July 2016) period.
We hope after this five month period we will all gain some clarity regarding the direction of claims submissions post Gobeille decision. During this interim period we will not be releasing updated commercial claims data. The most current commercial claims data available is through December 2015.
There are questions about the future of the commercial ERISA data in our APCD. The MHDO is committed and actively working on a solution that will minimize disruption and allow us to maintain a comprehensive claims database. We will continue to communicate updates at our data user group meetings. In the interim, please do not hesitate to contact the MHDO with any questions.

Example:
Hospitals are required to submit 2016 Q2 data 90 days after the end of the quarter,
approximately September 30th. Our policy will be to make the data available for
release 90 days after submitted –in this example by January 1, 2017. The feedback
regarding the release of outpatient files was that it is not required as frequently
and that annual release would be fine.
We will release the annual outpatient
data on the same date that we release Q4 inpatient data of a given year.
